Timeless Sash Windows publish guidebook: IDEAS AND INSPIRATION for BESPOKE DOORS
28/03/2019Timber Sash Windows – U values
12/04/2019Domagoj Juric is the CAD technician at Timeless Sash Windows. He is responsible for the technical drawings for all our products – windows, doors and rooflights. He is fondly known as ‘Dom’ and brings his cheeky sense of humour originally from Croatia where he completed his Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering. He sent me an image of the town that he is from and it looks stunning!
Dom and his family moved to Ireland 2 1/2 years ago and he has been working at Timeless Sash Windows for almost 2 years now. He bravely ventured to a new country and landed in Cork initially. After working a short time there, he moved following work to Tipperary and then further north to settle in Navan.
Before coming to Ireland he worked as a designer in Croatia for fire extinguishing systems and in a shipyard for oxygen ducts. He also worked as a technical support engineer and subsequently shift leader in a tobacco company. He tells me that he never drew a window before arriving at Timeless, but that the computer programme is the same, so it was a simple transition to learn the components of windows and doors and then expertly draw all of the necessary parts for our beautiful products.
Dom receives the notes and measurements from Conor and Stephen on site. His drawings will include calculations for the weights in the sash windows, the cutting lists for the raw timber and the glass sizes to be ordered. The ironmongery and paint schedule will be arranged by Stephen according to the customers wishes and Dom will update the information on the drawings to include this. The drawings are then sent to Ollie in the factory to put into production, and Tony in Purchasing to order the components.
What do you like to do in your free time Dom? “What free time?!” says Dom, father of 3 children. Happily, he says that time away from work is consumed with family life and he also enjoys sci-fi comics and fantasy books, video games and going for walks, exploring their new found home, which has quickly become ‘home’.
