Timber

A variety of timbers are used by Timeless Sash Windows and this decision is made subject to the use exposure of the product. Accoya with its 50-year anti rot warranty is a popular and versatile choice of species.

Carefully selected Mahogany or Iroko are also excellent choices for complete new projects.

We have also used high grade redwood, larch, cedar, poplar and douglas fir when there is a special requirement. Our operators are equally competent in using all the various species of timber available.

As a conservation specialist we can also use salvaged timber in our restoration projects

Glazing

At Timeless Sash Windows due to the broad spectrum areas we cover, we use many different glass options. These options vary on the client's needs and requirements. We use glass manufactured by both Pilkington K and Saint Gobain.

Our double glaze unit varies from a 12mm unit, 4 mm float, 4mm krypton gas and 4mm float in a 28mm unit consisting of 4mm float-20mm Argon-4mm float. These are multiple choices of double glaze and we are happy to advise which suits your project best. All our double glaze units contain a warm edge spacer bar manufactured by Edge-tech. All our units are Low “E” and contain safety glass where required. Our single glazing range varies on requirement - from 4mm float to cylinder to salvage glass. Again our client's needs determine the type of glass used.

We are also familiar with working with Fineo glass and have successfully used this on a number of projects. It is a specific type of vacuum double glazing. Its U-value is 0.7 and it is 7.7mm thick overall.

Glazing Bars

We are delighted to have recently launched our latest Timeless Slim Glazing System. This allows us install slimline double glazing using a glazing bar as slim as 16mm. This can be done with new windows or retrofitted into Georgian windows.
There are many various types of glazing bars, some include:

  • Ovolo
  • Lambstongue
  • Splay
  • Bishops hat

We can match any other profile your project requires.

Draught Proofing

We use Schlegel for our draught proofing. There are many benefits to using this type of draught proofing:

• Excellent memory – returns to original shape after compression
• Stability – low / no stretch gained by rigid insert or glass fibre internal cord
• Easily compressed – low compression forces, unaffected by temperature variance
• Acoustics – outstanding acoustic performance
• Thermal conductivity – unrivalled thermal performance
• Paint and stain proof – properties unaffected by standard paints and stains
• Stabilised – unaffected by rot, fungi, UV-light or ozone
• Colours – white, black, brown, grey and many other options
• Temperatures – wide operating range under extremely cold and warm weather conditions.
• The Timeless Draught-proofing-system uses Schlegal seals. The precise location of these seals is the critical factor.
Data sheet available on request.

Air Leakage

Our use of Schegal draught seal products in certain critical locations allow us to achieve excellent air leakage results and these are unrivalled within the sash window industry.

Ironmongery

We offer a variety of traditional and modern ironmongery in our standard range. You can choose from different finishes such as chrome or brass. These can all be selected during your consultation with our project manager.

The ironmongery typically used in sash windows is by Fulton and Bray however we are more than happy to source specific ironmongery for our clients.

The ironmongery we use on our Timeless products has been carefully selected from our specialist ironmongery suppliers and are always happy to source special ironmongery where required.

A-Rated Windows

At Timeless Sash Windows we have developed an A RATED sliding sash window. Each window we make is A-Rated by the BFRC which is the UK’s national system for rating the energy efficiency of windows and is recognized with current building regulations.

The three components that are tested are:

  • U-Value - A U- Value is a measurement of the rate of heat loss indicating how well your windows are keeping valuable heat in.
  • Solar Factor - Solar factor is the increase of temperature in a room from solar radiation (sunlight) the amount of solar gain increases with the strength of the sun.
  • Air Leakage - Hard Wood Certificate
Air leakage is the amount of air that passes from one side of the window to the other.
