Historic Windows and Their Conservation

Bringing together over 50 years of practical expertise working on historic windows, combined with a journey into the story that brought these windows to life, we are expertly placed to discuss methods to conserve the captivating pleasure and practicality of windows.

This two part presentation delivered by the experienced team at Timeless Sash Windows aims to raise awareness of conservation techniques and practice when working on historical buildings, including protected structures. We will look at this from practical, historical and sustainable persepectives.

This will provide great insight as to the options and possibilities for restoration of historic windows and the importance of both the quality workmanship and the understanding of viewing the windows in the context of the building they are part of and not in isolation.

During the first part of the presentation we will look at windows through the ages and the reasons behind them, giving a background to different architectural styles and functions.

In the second part of the presentation we explain how repairs are carried out, siolutions to problems and the latest advice on building regulations.

This is an RIAI accredited presentation. It is 45 minutes long with 15 minutes Q & A. Each attendee will receive 1 CPD point. Timeless Sash Windows will collect details on the day from the participants in order to issue certificates via email.
