Reopening Our Sustainable Joinery Production Facility in Trim, Co. Meath
It was with great excitement and pride that we reopened our new, customised, sustainable joinery production facility in Trim, Co. Meath, on Friday, 5th September 2025. The event was attended by guest of honour Helen McEntee, Minister of Education, along with invited guests and staff, marking a major milestone in our company’s ongoing story of resilience and renewal.
From Fire to Fresh Beginnings
On Tuesday, 19th April 2022, a devastating fire swept through our Trim facility, destroying machinery, joinery, and supplies. Thankfully, no one was hurt.
In the weeks that followed, our team came together with extraordinary determination, bolstered by an outpouring of support from our local community, suppliers, customers, and competitors — for which we will be forever grateful.
We quickly established a temporary facility in Kilcock, allowing production to resume within a month. Meanwhile, we continued to enhance our Boyerstown site with new features including a paintshop and glazing/finishing area. Of the 147 live projects we had at the time, nearly all continued with us — a true reflection of trust and teamwork.
A Leaner, Greener Vision
Rebuilding on the original Trim site gave us the rare chance to design a facility that fully reflects our company values: Lean manufacturing and sustainable production. Under the guidance of Barry and Pearse Callaghan, our family-led team turned this vision into reality.
We partnered with a Lean consultancy to train our staff and optimise production flow. Our upgraded workspace now includes moveable trolleys, flexible workbenches, and a rail system for efficient movement of windows through the painting area — boosting both output and precision. This Lean vision is in constant improvement.
Powered by Renewable Energy and Purpose
Since 2022, our dedicated Sustainability Team has driven major environmental improvements.
Our new production facility operates on 100% green electricity, enhanced by 113 kW of solar panels generating renewable power directly on-site.
We’ve also installed a biomass burner that recycles sawdust pellets and timber offcuts into heating fuel. This completely eliminates the need for kerosene and ensuring nothing goes to waste.
Looking Ahead, Innovation Rooted in Responsibility
The reopening of our sustainable joinery production facility in Trim, Co. Meath is not just about restoring operations — it’s about redefining what excellence means in modern Irish manufacturing.
With sustainability, craftsmanship, and innovation at our core, we look forward to continuing to serve our customers at home and abroad, building a greener future one project at a time.
Our journey has been powered by people, from our dedicated staff to the wider Trim community. Many of our team members have been with us for years, and their experience and resilience have been crucial throughout this rebuilding process. We’re proud to continue creating local employment opportunities in Meath, while providing sustainable career pathways for apprentices and skilled tradespeople alike.
As a business deeply rooted in the area, our sustainable joinery production facility in Trim Co. Meath stands as a symbol of what community collaboration and determination can achieve.
Looking forward, we see this facility as a platform for innovation and long-term growth. With Ireland’s focus on renewable energy and green enterprise, our Trim-based joinery facility positions us at the forefront of sustainable manufacturing in our sector. We aim to continue investing in research, design, and staff training, ensuring that we remain a leader in both craftsmanship and sustainability for generations to come.
