Refurbishing Old Wooden Windows
Our craftspeople can splice new sections into old windows in order to preserve the original timber as much as possible. Not only does this ensure that there is as little waste as possible, but also as little raw material used. Additionally, the heritage of old buildings is preserved and they continue to tell their stories to future generations of architecture lovers.
Many historic windows throughout Ireland could date over 200 years. With the correct care and maintenance, the slow growing hardwoods used in these windows can last many years more.
Other building materials, such as uPVC, used in windows are not as malleable and largely need to be completely replaced in the case of (often) minor damage.

Wood offers endless design capability for your windows. As we make each window to order, we can create custom sizes, shapes, mouldings, architraves and shutters.
Our surveyor will measure the openings to ensure a perfect match every time. Furthermore, our team of fitters are experts in their field and will provide a neat and efficient service.
Maintenance of Wooden Windows
Modern joinery techniques combined with the correct choice of timber and excellent water based exterior joinery paint ensure that wooden windows won’t need painting for an average of ten years. Like all windows, a wipe clean with warm water to remove insects and dirt will keep them in good working order.
